Port Akdeniz (Ortadoğu Antalya Liman İşletmeleri AŞ) is a joint venture of Global Investment Holding, Çelebi Holding, and Antmarin. The service quality and management systems of its operations have been internationally recognized and certified.
Port Akdeniz has been awarded EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification.
Ortadoğu Antalya Liman İşletmeleri submitted the winning (USD 61 million) bid for the operating rights of the Port of Antalya when they were auctioned off by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund. Since the operation of Port of Antalya was transferred to Port Akdeniz (Ortadoğu Antalya Liman İşletmeleri AŞ) in October 2006, the company has invested a total of USD 9.5 million on improvements. Thanks to newly acquired container handling equipment, winches, and tugs, operation times have been reduced while both quality and productivity have been increased. Work has also begun on reorganizing the port area and building a new passenger terminal.
Service quality at international standards
After four months of intensive effort on the part of Port Akdeniz’s management and employees, the company’s operations at the Port of Antalya were awarded EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification after thorough-going audit carried out by TUV Cert over a period of two days. Focusing on customer satisfaction in the conduct of all of its activities, Port Akdeniz has created a virtuous circle of constant improvement that is supported by ongoing investments in major infrastructure even while uninterrupted service continues to be provided.
Having received its quality management system certification, Port Akdeniz has launched projects to qualify for and receive OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certifications as well.
