Silver Muse visiting Cagliari Cruise Port

Silver Muse, the new cruise ship of the Silversea luxury brand, built by Fincantieri and launched in spring 2017, will arrive for the first time in Cagliari next Wednesday (June 27th), with about 600 passengers - mainly Americans - and with a crew of over 400 members. During the inaugural call in the Cagliari port, the Commander of Silver Muse, as usual, has invited local authorities and institutions to participate in the symbolic crest exchange ceremony on board.

The arrival of new cruise ships in the port of Cagliari represents the concrete and tangible result of the intense work carried out in recent months by the Municipality, the Port System Authority of the Sardinia Sea and Cagliari Cruise Port, which since about a year and a half has become part of the great Global Ports Holding network.

GPH is the most important independent operator of cruise terminals in the world with a consolidated presence in the Mediterranean, in the Atlantic and in the Asia-Pacific regions, including some realities of commercial ports in Turkey and Montenegro. With the recent addition of the La Habana Cruise Terminal (Cuba), GPH manages a portfolio of 16 ports in 8 countries, in which more than 3,000 berths of ships of all the companies are held every year.

GPH is currently the majority shareholder of the Cagliari Cruise Terminal and has already developed intense and fruitful collaborative relationships with the Authorities, Institutions and local businesses involved in the supply chain, with the aim of applying Cagliari as Home- Port (port of start and end of cruise) for Companies of medium-sized ships.

Hence the project for the expansion of the cruise terminal, presented by Cagliari Cruise Port and already under discussion with the Port Authority, which could hopefully be completed before the start of the cruise season 2019.
