As part of our growing operations in Barcelona Cruise Port, we are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing financial and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, and supporting the overall financial management of the business.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily finance and accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger processes.
  • Maintain accurate company accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.
  • Coordinate management reporting, regulatory reporting, and VAT declarations.
  • Prepare corporate tax and VAT filings and maintain communication with Spanish tax authorities and external tax advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Support audits and provide required financial documentation and analysis.
  • Develop and improve accounting procedures, financial processes, and internal control systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support business operations and financial accuracy.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Director in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools.
  • Participate in finance-related projects as required.

 

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or controlling roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with month-end/year-end closing and preparation of financial statements.
  • Knowledge of VAT and corporate tax processes in Spain.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software; knowledge of SAGE is an advantage.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in an international and fast-paced environment.
