The new store, operated by JVFA Spain Travel Retail, expands the terminal’s retail offering and reinforces the commitment to delivering a shopping experience tailored to international travellers.
Las Palmas Cruise Port continues to expand the services available to cruise passengers with the opening of a new Flemingo Duty Free store at its cruise terminal. The retail outlet is operated by JVFA Spain Travel Retail, a joint venture between Flemingo Duty Free and Altimex S.L.
The opening forms part of Flemingo Duty Free’s strategy to expand its presence in the Spanish cruise market and strengthen its collaboration with Global Ports Holding (GPH), the operator of Las Palmas Cruise Port. The initiative aims to enrich the passenger experience by integrating a retail offering into the port facilities.
The new store will provide passengers with a selection of travel retail products, combining international categories with a commercial offering tailored to the destination. The addition of this retail space further enhances the services available at the terminal, providing passengers with a more convenient and enjoyable experience while travelling through the port.
Susana Gutiérrez, Managing Director of GPH Canary Islands Cruise Ports, highlights the importance of continuing to develop the services available at the terminal:
“The opening of this new store represents another step in our ongoing commitment to improving the passenger experience. We want Las Palmas Cruise Port to be much more than a point of embarkation and disembarkation: we want it to be a modern, welcoming space connected to the destination, meeting the expectations of our visitors and helping showcase Gran Canaria to the international cruise market.”
K. Thimmayya, CEO of Flemingo International, said “We are delighted to open our new retail store at the Port of Las Palmas. Cruise passengers today are looking for more than convenience; they want to discover something distinctive about the destinations they visit. Our ambition is to combine the strength of international brands with authentic local products and experiences, creating a retail environment that adds value to the passenger journey and the destination. Las Palmas is an exciting cruise destination, with a lot of rich culture and history. We look forward to building a strong and successful retail business here showcasing the best of local produce, providing local artisans, craftsmen and manufactures a unique opportunity to showcase their talents and produce to Global Audience.”
The opening in Las Palmas forms part of this retail development initiative across Global Ports Holding’s Spanish cruise terminal network, which also includes locations such as Tarragona, Alicante, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
With this addition, Las Palmas Cruise Port continues to develop a modern, passenger-focused facility, strengthening its role as a gateway to Gran Canaria and a strategic hub for cruise tourism in the Canary Islands.
