A milestone operation at Muelle de las Delicias showcases the port’s capacity for ultra-luxury “Discovery Yachts” and high-value tourism.
Sevilla Cruise Port, operated by Global Ports Holding – the world’s largest cruise port operator – has successfully completed a historic maritime operation with the simultaneous arrival of Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II on May 9th and 10th. For the first time ever, the two ultra-luxury sister ships coincided at the Muelle de las Delicias, performing a unique “bow-to-bow” berthing that transformed the city’s riverfront into a showcase of world-class cruise excellence.
This landmark event follows the cruise line’s initial selection of Sevilla as a destination earlier this year on April 12th. The presence of both “Discovery Yachts” together highlights the operational agility and specialized services provided by Sevilla Cruise Port.
“Seeing both Scenic Eclipse yachts docked together in Sevilla is a proud moment for our team and a clear indicator of the port’s potential,” said Beatrice Rasmini, General Manager of Sevilla Cruise Port. “This operation demonstrates our ability to handle complex, high-profile calls while providing the personalized, high-quality service that ultra-luxury lines expect.”
Fleet Captain Erwan Le Rouzic added: “Seeing Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II together in Sevilla is a proud and symbolic moment for Scenic. Sharing this occasion in such a beautiful and historic destination makes it especially meaningful for our guests and crew. We are sincerely grateful to the Port of Sevilla for their partnership and support in creating an experience that our guests will remember for years to come.
The visit allowed over 400 affluent passengers to enjoy the cultural richness of Sevilla, with the vessels positioned just steps away from UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Cathedral and the Alcázar. This focus on “boutique” cruising aligns with the port’s strategy to promote a sustainable, high-value tourism model that integrates seamlessly with the city’s urban fabric.
This event is a key highlight of the 2026 season, which features nearly 90 scheduled calls. As part of a €5 million investment plan, GPH and OPM are moving forward with infrastructure modernizations, including the development of a new terminal in the Urban Port District. Once complete, Muelle Delicias will further strengthen its role as a dedicated marina for large yachts and premium cruise vessels.
